Itchy Pimples on Your Skin? Here’s 10 Ways to Deal with Them

Itchy Pimples
Pimples normally occur during puberty due to changes in one’s hormone levels. However, adults also get pimples. In simple terms, a pimple is a pore in your skin that is clogged with oils, bacteria, or dirt.

Everyone has gotten pimples at nearly every stage in their life. And with that, everyone knows the nuance that a pimple can bring with it. They not only are unsightly, but you might have noticed that some pimples might even be itchy.

The redness and white head are the main features of a pimple. When pimples are healing or when they are infected, they will be inflamed in some capacity. This, in turn, is what causes that annoying itchy feeling on your pimple.

While you may be provoked to scratch your pimples, you may aggravate them and expose your skin to infection even more. That is why when you are dealing with an itchy pimple, it is never advised to scratch in. The good news, however, is that there are ways that you can deal with your itchy pimple. In today’s article, we are going to go over some helpful tips that will help you deal with an itchy pimple.

Do You Have Itchy Pimples on Your Skin? Here Are 10 Ways To Deal With The Itching. | Ideahacks.com

Stop Scratching Pimples

Scratching creates minor pain signals and when your body responds to these signals, the itching becomes worse. According to an article on Huffington Post, scratching prompts your brain to trigger the hormone serotonin which gives you a feel-good sensation.

Zhou-Feng Chen, director of “Washington University’s Centre involved with the study of itching” says that when serotonin travels from your brain to the spine, it is highly likely that it will skip the pain-sensing neurons and nerves that make you sensitive to itch intensity. Therefore, try to resist the urge to scratch your pimple.

Don’t Wash Your Face Too Often

Washing your face too often or using harsh soaps can cause your skin to dry out and result in itchiness. When you are washing your face, you want to make sure that you are using a facial cleanser that won’t aggravate and harm your skin further. The best way to do this is by choosing a mild soap that does not irritate your skin or cause your face to dry out.

You should avoid scented oils and products, avoid skin-lightening products, and monitor your exposure to the sun. Additionally, you are advised not to use products that cause your skin to turn red or give you a burning sensation. It is recommended that you use skin products with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and nothing above this range.

Avoid Sweat and Hot Environments

Sweat consists of salt which if left to remain on your skin can trigger drying and itchiness effects. When you leave sweat to dry on your skin, this will cause a chance for bacterial buildup on your pores that will then lead to pimples. The best way to avoid this is by routinely wiping your face until you are able to wash your face completely.

If you live in a humid and hot climate, avoid the sun when it is hottest during the day. You can shield yourself from UV rays using hats or by applying a mild moisturizer.

Excess sweat and very hot environments can aggravate the itchiness of pimples and prolong their healing period.

Eliminate Germ-Causing Properties With Garlic

Although garlic may seem too bitter and unpleasant to eat, it has anti-bacterial properties and is an excellent blood purifier. Chop some pieces and apply them on infected skin to alleviate itching and eliminate pimples.

Sometimes itching pimples are linked to a deficiency of vitamins and certain nutrients in the body. Pimples react positively to vitamins like niacin, vitamins E, and A.

Incorporating these vitamins into your diet will lead to a significant reduction in pimples. Zinc is also an important supplement that prevents the occurrence of pimples.

Fight Inflammation With Baking Soda

Baking soda is a common remedy for treating itchy skin. The soothing effect promoted by baking soda is attributed to its anti-inflammatory elements. Baking soda also serves as an acid neutralizer that relieves itching naturally.

Prepare a paste of baking soda with water and apply it to the affected area. Leave it on for a few minutes. Repeat this procedure daily for a reduction in itching and pimples over time.

Try Stress Relief Techniques

Stress is one of the major contributors to the breakout of pimples and itchiness they come with. Try to relieve yourself of stress by relaxing.

Getting enough sleep, drinking herbal teas, and getting involved in meditation techniques like yoga, are some of the ways you can get rid of stress.

Probiotics Are Good For Your Skin

While many people are familiar with probiotics for their gut benefits, they can also improve your skin. Probiotics like yogurt and oatmeal inhibit the bacteria that promote acne. Cool yogurt can help soothe burning, inflammation, and burning.

Oatmeal is a good exfoliator that helps get rid of dead skin and clogged pores. Apply a facial mask of oatmeal and organic yogurt 20-30 minutes a day and experience your itchiness fade and your pimples fade into obscurity.

Moisturize Your Skin Daily

Every time you wash your skin, experts recommend using a light moisturizer. Apply the moisturizer using a cotton ball to reduce hand-to-face contact. You should keep your skin moisturized to avoid pimples.

Additionally, sun damage is one of the factors that contribute to skin irritation and sunburn. Protect your skin further by applying sunscreen every day.

Choose a sunscreen product that is oil-free and has a factor of between 15 and 30 depending on the intensity of the sun. However, if you suffer from more pimple breakouts after using a sunscreen product, stop using it.
