The month of January brings lots of things: snow, new resolutions, healthy diets, and sports! Ok, so sports is a bit of a stretch, but I feel like it gets even more competitive after the new year.
Since the playoffs for football, basketball, and hockey are in sight, fans are on high alert and things get tense. Now, I will admit that I’m not a big sports fan. I like attending games more than I like watching them, though I can sit through watching a basketball game on television.
Football and I, on the other hand, don’t mix! Not even a tiny bit! I’ll go to a game, but I can’t watch it on TV for more than five minutes.
My husband is just about the biggest sports fanatic that I know. He loves football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and everything in between.
He religiously watches ESPN on television, reads about sports in magazines or the newspaper, and checks out the game scores through the ESPN application on his phone. If you have a question about sports, chances are my husband knows it!
And with the Super Bowl coming up and NCAA basketball not too far behind, it’s sports central around here. Since the weekends are usually the time to watch football, hockey, or basketball, I decided to whip up a quick and delicious snack for my husband and I. Even though I don’t care much for sports, I can tolerate it much better with food!
This Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip is loaded with cheese, bacon, Ranch, and sour cream. A perfect appetizer for when you want something quick, this four ingredient dip will become an essential on game day, or any other day!
I’ve been making this dip for several years, mainly when I have a party or get-together to attend. And guys, this dip is always the first to go! Even if you don’t like sour cream, I guarantee that will love this dip.
The Ranch dressing and smoky flavor from the bacon bits pair so well together, while the cheddar cheese gives it a nice punch.
To make this Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip, I usually prepare it the night before and then refrigerate it so that the flavors blend together. Trust me, it’s better after it sits for at least eight hours.
But if you’re in a time crunch and need to made right away, then this dip is perfect for that, too. So let’s talk about how easy this is to throw together! Simply combine the sour cream and Ranch dressing mix in a medium bowl, stirring thoroughly to ensure that the Ranch is evenly mixed in.
Then, stir in the bacon bits and cheddar cheese. You would mix all four ingredients at once, but I’ve found that it’s easier to do it in two steps. Another tip is to not add too much cheddar cheese to the dip.
After it sits in the refrigerator, the cheese will soak up some of the liquid, making the dip more gloppy, instead of creamy. Garnish the dip with some more cheese and bacon bits, and your game day snack is ready!
This Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip is always a hit with my husband and I. It’s easy to make, contains minimal ingredients, and is the perfect snack to munch on. This dip is sure to be a game day winner in your house, too!
